"Looks like Chuckie Robinson is here in San Francisco todayNo roster move announced yet, but probably not a great sign regarding Will Smith's hand bone bruise. Dave Roberts acknowledged yesterday they were considering the IL for Smith, thinking a week of rest might help- Jack Harris (@ByJackHarris) September 13, 2025"
""It's still there. It doesn't feel great," Roberts said. "It's getting better each day but still not 100 percent. "I think after his first game back (Tuesday) and just feeling with all the tests we've done to come up negative and the swelling has dissipated ... we thought we'd be in a better spot," Roberts said. "But at least there's improvement each day.""
Chuckie Robinson joined the Dodgers in San Francisco, which triggers MLB roster rules given he was optioned within the last 15 days and can only be recalled if someone goes on the injured list. Will Smith suffered a hand bone bruise from a foul ball 10 days ago, missed six days, returned Tuesday, then was a late scratch Wednesday due to swelling. Manager Dave Roberts said the hand is improving but not yet 100 percent and that the team had considered an IL stint to allow a week of rest. Dalton Rushing remains on the IL and Ben Rortvedt has provided catching support.
