Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni, both 23, are turning heads with Phia, their AI fashion app that's drawing interest from investors andtrendsetters. Phia, an AI-powered shopping assistant, went live in April and said it has since amassed over 600,000 users. The free app and browser extension compare prices on fashion items across around 40,000 linked sites to help users find deals. It's the pair's first business, and it's making waves with investors.
Google seems to be testing renaming the Shopping tab in Google Search from Shopping to "AI Shopping." Maybe the results in the new AI Shopping tab are more AI-driven? This test was spotted by Sachin Patel who posted some screenshots and a video on X - here are some of his screenshots: Here is a GIF of it in action:
Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni turned their Stanford dorm room into a startup lab. It's a time-honored tradition at Stanford, a rite of passage many tech bigwigs have undertaken. Gates and Kianni started as randomly assigned roommates, but soon bonded over their shared love of activism and business. And, like many aspiring Stanford founders before them, they were looking for an idea-pinning up articles in their kitchen, calling potential customers from their floors, and scribbling on a whiteboard.
