Google has introduced a satellite messaging feature to its Pixel phones, enabling users to send messages without internet or cell service, enhancing safety.
Skylo, which has been offering satellite messaging since 2017, will power the Pixel 9's emergency messaging feature, allowing seamless connections to emergency services.
Pixel 9 users will be able to connect to emergency services via satellite for two years at no extra cost, similar to Apple's launch strategy.
The emergency messaging capability will be available to all Pixel 9 series users, regardless of their mobile carrier, broadening safety access.
