TSMC is ramping up production at its second fab in Arizona ahead of schedule, responding to strong demand from US chip designers such as Nvidia, Apple, and AMD. The construction of the second fab, which will produce on the 3nm process node, has been completed. CEO CC Wei revealed intentions to bolster US output significantly, aiming for 30% of the company’s 2nm technology to be produced in Arizona. Strategic US investments continue amid evolving trade policies and tariffs impacting semiconductor imports.
We're seeing strong interest from our leading US customers and are working on speeding up the volume production schedule by several quarters to support their need.
When complete, Wei anticipates that US production will account for roughly 30 percent of the company's 2nm and smaller process tech will be located in Arizona.
