Friday, the Washington Capitals installed their 50th anniversary logo into the ice at the main faceoff circle, mimicking the new ice design at Capital One Arena.
The Capitals are going all out to celebrate their 50th anniversary as the new season approaches. The team will wear special patches on the front of their jerseys.
The team is taking over nearby Palmer Alley with a 50th anniversary installation. The Capitals' team store at MedStar Capitals Iceplex is also offering a bunch of anniversary merch.
