Executive editor Sally Buzbee has stepped down, as former WSJ editor Matt Murray is appointed until 2024, and a new division focusing on different news consumption methods is set to launch.
Publisher Will Lewis announced plans for a new newsroom division dedicated to serving audiences wanting news via different methods, separate from the core news operation.
The sudden departure of Buzbee follows the announcement that The Washington Post faced financial struggles, losing $77 million over the past year, with a significant drop in audience since 2020.
