More than 50 parking spaces could be axed for new cycle route
Briefly

The proposed cycle lane in Tottenham Lane aims to enhance cycling safety by creating protected routes, with several parking spaces removed to accommodate the initiative.
Cllr Mike Hakata emphasized the importance of cycling infrastructure, stating, 'By creating a network of protected lanes, we will tackle one of the biggest obstacles to cycling: the sense of vulnerability and fear of collisions.'
Haringey Council has proposed converting permit spaces into pay-to-park bays to mitigate the loss of 44 parking spaces due to the new cycle lane.
The council's online consultation allows residents to voice their opinions on the new cycle lane plans, which are part of the broader Streets for People program.
