A law requiring federal agencies to study cybersecurity regulation overhauls with the White House would be a tremendous asset to the Biden administration's cyber czar office, helping with streamlining federal agency cybersecurity requirements.
Having a clear mandate from Congress to bring everyone to the table will allow the ONCD to listen to partners and design a comprehensive framework for harmonization and reciprocity.
The ONCD needs congressional help to engage independent regulatory commissions like the Consumer Product Safety Commission in streamlining cyber laws.
