150 Stoughton students initially denied bus transport get bus spots
Briefly

"Transportation costs have been going up for several years. We've known this. This has been something we're wrestling with, both for the general population and the special ed population, both within district and out of district," said Chair Katherine Weiss, highlighting the ongoing challenges of financing student transportation.
Superintendent Joseph Baeta noted that the bus routes for the double runs will be about 15 to 20 minutes late in the afternoons, emphasizing the temporary nature of this adjustment for the start of the school year.
The addition of the new bus, which costs $79,000, was made possible due to recent resignations in the district's central office, revealing a strategic reallocation of resources without impacting classroom funding.
Katherine Weiss commented on the rapid growth of Stoughton's school population, indicating the need for proactive measures such as adding a new bus to accommodate the rising number of students.
