"When I first graduated college, I was bopping around a little bit. I spent a month in Colombia, just because I was like, 'Where can I go [that's] not that expensive?' I went there, and I loved the culture,"
"It was a great place to start the living abroad journey."
A 24-year-old U.S.-born digital nomad lives and works remotely out of Santiago, Chile. Parents' international public health careers took her to Haiti, Tanzania, Zambia, and the Philippines before the family returned to Maryland when she was ten. She earned a bachelor's in public relations from Emerson College in December 2022 and began traveling immediately, spending a month in Colombia. She started her career freelancing as a publicist for a Gen Z-focused PR firm, later working at SafetyWing. She kept U.S. residency while living abroad, used Colombia's digital nomad visa in Medellín for a year, then relocated to Chile with her partner to save money due to lower living costs.
