Briefly

The second period had a rare display of five goals with Boston's Heise, Wenczkowski, and Minnesota's Marvin and Brandt scoring. Boston took the lead but Minnesota responded quickly with two goals.
In the third period, both goalies made incredible saves. Boston defended against penalties and the extra attacker. Boston was outshot 33-22, and Frankel's saves reduced due to improved defense.
