Intel's 120 TOPS Lunar Lake AI PC chips have landed
Briefly

Intel’s latest Core Ultra 200V mobile processors, built with TSMC’s technology, exceed Microsoft’s AI performance target by delivering up to 120 TOPS across CPU, GPU, and NPU.
CEO Pat Gelsinger highlighted that shifting some manufacturing to TSMC is a temporary measure until Intel's Foundry division can advance its own 20A and 18A tech planned for 2026.
The new processors exhibit significant gains, with performance cores showing a 14% increase in instructions per clock, and efficiency cores boasting a 68% improvement compared to prior generations.
In terms of power efficiency and performance, Intel claims its latest chips deliver comparable or superior graphics performance while consuming significantly less power than rival AMD and Qualcomm products.
