Congress can't and won't solve every challenge AI presents today, But we can lay down a base of smart, bipartisan policy proposals, guided by both urgency and humility.
The report's goal of $32 billion by 2026 aligns with a 2021 report by the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence.
The roadmap includes proposals to increase funding for AI innovation, enforce existing AI laws, address workforce impact, tackle deep-fakes, and mitigate long-term risk scenarios.
The 30-page roadmap resulted from nine forums with over 150 AI experts, involving representatives from various sectors to collaboratively shape AI policy recommendations.
