The event features approximately 40 vehicles alongside a conference program addressing topics such as autonomous driving, on-demand transport and operational concepts, including a Sustainable Bus session on intercity bus electrification.
The Volvo FH Aero Electric with Extended Range is powered by a newly designed electric rear axle that integrates two electric motors, all the necessary power electronics, a six-speed transmission, and a 13-tonne traditional axle.
TfL currently uses about 1.6 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity each year, making it the largest single electricity consumer in London. Once operational, the solar installations could supply up to 65,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of renewable electricity each year - equivalent to roughly two-thirds of the Victoria line's annual power consumption.
Being named to the Washington State DES contract is a significant milestone for ENC and a testament to the strength of our product portfolio. This contract gives transit agencies across the region a streamlined path to American-made, Altoona-tested heavy-duty buses in every major propulsion category.
It's tempting to frame autonomous driving as a single leap. In public transport, adoption tends to be incremental - because the system is built for reliability, and new capabilities have to fit into daily operations without disrupting service. That is why a practical strategy is evolution, not revolution: introduce autonomy in a defined domain, learn safely in real operations, and expand capability step-by-step.
The vehicle supply contract was awarded to Iveco Bus shortly before Christmas. The press release does not specify the exact vehicle model ordered by LSE. However, given the reference to a Low-Entry configuration, the vehicles can reasonably be expected to belong to Iveco's Crossway LE Elec range, launched in 2023. The same model has been ordered in 200 units in Germany by the purchasing group "BusGruppe" in late 2024.
Kinetic has been awarded all four contract units included in the Tranche 3 bus services tender for Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. The contract has a total value of NZD755 million (around USD446 million) and represents the largest contract award received by the company in the city to date.
The contracts mark the first Norwegian orders for Volvo Buses' latest long-range electric coach platform based on the Volvo BZR Electric chassis paired with a Carrus Delta body. The vehicles will be deployed in tour and charter, airport shuttle and cruise passenger transport services, expanding the presence of battery-electric solutions in long-distance coach operations in the country.
Indian long-distance bus operator LeafyBus has signed an agreement with Eicher Trucks & Buses for the deployment of 100 electric intercity sleeper buses on national routes in India. The programme is centred on the Skyline Pro E 13.5-metre electric sleeper coach and foresees a phased rollout, with 35 vehicles scheduled to enter service by March 2026, according to India Times.
