California declares a state of emergency, suspending key environmental laws to expedite wildfire protection measures.
Emergency services are currently engaged in tackling a significant wildfire in Galloway, Scotland, affecting nearby residents and the environment, particularly with a change in weather conditions.
"Uncertainty is at an all-time high. Morale is at an all-time low," one federal wildland firefighter said. Multiple federal employees asked not to be named because of their fear of retribution from the White House.
