Neither a drop of rain nor a cloud of wildfire smoke could keep more than 100,000 fans from flocking to the Governors Ball Music Festival over the weekend at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens.Waves of revelers, festooned in rose-colored tutus, elaborately designed fishnets and oversize cowboy hats, filed into the event held this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Michelin Guide is out with the first round of New York restaurants it's considering for awards this year.Fourteen restaurants in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Westchester were added on Wednesday to the organization's New York guide, a running list of restaurants in contention for awards.It's the first round of new additions since Michelin announced its stars and Bib Gourmand recipients last fall.

Congress Members Dan Goldman (D-Manhattan/Brooklyn) and Jamaal Bowman (D-Bronx/Westchester) on Monday sent a letter to several leaders of New York City's public and private universities, urging them to conduct an audit of their available space for possibly housing migrants.In the missive, the pair implored SUNY Chancellor John King, Jr.,CUNY Chancellor Felix Matos Rodriguez, New York University President Andrew Hamilton and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities to review available space that can shelter a portion of the tens of thousands of migrants who've come here over the past year.

For 23 seasons, Derrick Taylor has been roaming the Woodland Hills Taft basketball sideline, usually with arms folded and a piercing stare when he doesn't like what he sees.There are spots of gray visible on his chin.The Toreadors have won three City Section titles during his tenure and are known for producing top players, from Jordan Farmar to Larry Drew Jr.

The New York Knicks had to add a player to their roster Thursday - they dealt three players away in the Josh Hart trade, and league rules mandate they keep 14 players on their roster - so they signed rookie Trevor Keels to a 10-day contract.Keels had been on a two-way deal with the Knicks this season after they selected him in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft.

After just one practice with the Westchester G-league team, the Knicks announced that Obi Toppin was recalled to the team and would travel with them to Toronto.The power forward hasn't played since suffering a stress fracture in his fibula on December 7th, so it's unclear if the Knicks will get him back into action immediately on Friday night against the Raptors.
