Samsung started updating its smartwatches to One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 back in July, and it's been a rather slow trickle ever since. Today, the latest wearable to be graced with the update is the Galaxy Watch FE, launched in 2024 as a lower-cost model, essentially a re-released Galaxy Watch4 under a different name. Its One UI 8 Watch update is now rolling out in Korea, with firmware version R861XXU1CYK6.

Google rolled out the Wear OS 6 update to older Pixel Watch models earlier this week, bringing the Material 3 Expressive design language to them. The new operating system first arrived on the Google Pixel Watch 4 when it launched in August. However, it did miss out on a few features, with the most notable being the always-on display (AOD) functionality for media controls. As per a report, this feature could be rolled out later this year, as part of the next quarterly Pixel Watch update.

Samsung has launched the One UI 8 Watch Beta, which introduces AI-driven features such as Now Brief and Now Bar for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra.
