Trisha Paytas' announcement that she intends to run for a seat in the US House of Representatives in her home state, California, has come as a surprise to many. As someone put on X/Twitter on Tuesday (6 January): "Trisha Paytas announcing that she is running for the House of Representatives was not on my 2026 bingo card." Since then, Spencer Pratt, a reality TV star, has announced his own political aspirations by launching a campaign to become the Mayor of Los Angeles.
"I am being so serious about it. I have to look into it," she said, adding that she believes it's a "doable" goal as "there's stupider people in Congress" than her. "This is my goal, and I think it's my only goal I need to achieve this year. I'm so serious," she reiterated. "I need to start campaigning. I think I can do it, because I can fund it myself. You just have to do a little campaign. "That's my goal, that's my thing. I think I'm gonna try. OK, I'll get on this," she added.
Paytas will be appearing in Beetlejuicefrom November 4 to November 23. Paytas is playing Maxine Dean, one of the party guests in the big, spooky dinner party. Maxine is the wife of Maxie Dean, Charles Deetz's boss who is trying to turn the neighborhood into a gated community. The actor playing Maxine usually also plays Juno, Beetlejuice's mother. While Paytas is embodying Maxine, Sharone Sayegh will continue to play Juno in Act II.
When Paytas first started her YouTube channel, it was a tribute to Quentin Tarantino, but she quickly pivoted to fashion tips and relationship advice, eventually gaining over 20 million followers.
