The truth is that I am mentally unwell. Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result my mental health has only further declined. After discussions with my team, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows and take an indefinite hiatus from live music.

Taj Mahal looked out at his fans and stated the obvious: This is off the charts. Indeed, it was a very special night for the legendary Berkeley-based blues musician, who was being honored by an numerous high-profile musicians in concert at The Masonic in San Francisco on Saturday (Feb. 21). The role call featured a number of other Bay Area greats including Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Joan Baez and Van Morrison as well as many other notable artists
The Moth has been long-awaited, having first been announced by Townsend over a decade ago. The wait was in large part due to the scope of the project: with multiple choirs and orchestras from all over the world being part of the recording, it is by far the most ambitious record Townsend has ever assembled.
I wanted to explore catchy, melodic phrasing weaved throughout the intensity of the instrumentation and droney chord changes. All that I could reflect on was grief and hope; death and life; cause and effect; shared experiences of being a human person.
Craft beer has always been about creativity and community, but when it teams up with rock music, it becomes something truly special. In this post, we'll explore some of the most iconic collaborations between craft breweries and legendary bands, highlighting how these unique brews reflect the spirit of rock culture. ## The Rise of Band-Inspired Brews As craft beer continues to dominate the beverage landscape, breweries are increasingly looking to popular culture for inspiration. Band-inspired beers have become a staple, and for good reason. They not only attract fans of the music but also tap into the stories, values, and identities that these bands represent.
She's a wonderful person. So that was half of the quest, can we find somebody that's gonna be really fun to be with? She's really a lovely person. She laughs easily. She felt immediately comfortable. I think she was quite nervous in those first few days... But she worked really hard. She prepped for it. She had five songs, and we went through those songs. But by the fourth day, Ged and I, we talked and we weren't quite sold on it.
His first albums under his own name, 1995's Earth & Nightfall and 1996's cult classic Ten Days of Blue, were blissful-sounding ambient techno records that took the melodic sensibilities of the local scene to their cosmic extremes. Every beep and blip was in harmony with a lush string line, the rhythms less like breakbeats or programmed drums than trance-inducing hammered dulcimers.

At only 17 years old, the Eugene, Ore., native Maria Telesheva is already an accordion wizard. I have trouble simply pushing the right button in an elevator. So watching Telesheva's fingers fly gracefully over more than 200 buttons on her bayan, as the instrument is called in Russia, is a thrill. She makes the tightly braided voices in J.S. Bach's thicket of counterpoint sing and dance.
You may not know Wolf Parade, but if you've watched Heated Rivalry, you definitely know their music. Scoring a few key moments in the show, including Scott and Kip's big kiss on ice in episode five, " I'll Believe in Anything" has been on near-constant rotation in the heads of loon lovers since late December, backing everything from TikTok fan edits to sweaty, scream-filled nights at the club.
I noticed the swelling of the double bass first, quickly followed by the fluttering of brushed cymbals. A saxophone pushing against the edges of a melody swiftly married the notes together, chords drifting haphazardly before reaching a slow, pulsing groove. The jazz quartet performed in front of a liquor cabinet lined with whisky bottles; low-hanging lights teetered overhead, throwing shapes on the monochromatic marble-tiled floor. Outside, a leafy veranda was filled with diners, the music drifting through flung-open doors and windows.
Designed by Korean up-and-comer Woojin Yang, Everglow is a handheld mini-keyboard that fits into any bag. The "musical sketchbook" of sorts allows artists to quickly jot down ideas when they're not in front of their instruments or computers. The sleekly-designed device comes with a generative AI-based sound system that allows them to iterate and develop a song on the spot, not just transcribe the initial tune.

Sarah McLachlan's secret to caring for her voice on the road? "Lots of warm water with honey and lemon, lots of sleep, humidifiers in the hotel and dressing rooms, exercise, and healthy food," she listed, which honestly sounds like a fine recipe for surviving the winter, too. McLachlan had a major 2025, releasing her tenth album, Better Broken, in September, with a tour across the United States.
