The 2025 edition of the TCS New York City Marathon week kicked off on an energetic note with the annual Kids Kickoff event hosted by New York Road Runners (NYRR). Bringing together young runners, families, and supporters, the Kids Kickoff provided a spirited start to marathon week festivities, highlighting the fun and positive energy of the youth movement, community engagement, and active lifestyles.

The TCS New York Marathon. From Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, crossing the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, runners pass through all five boroughs of New York City to the finish line in Central Park. But behind those thousands of people gathering all together is one organization that has kept the city running, quite literally, for more than six decades: New York Road Runners.

After an incredible career as a six-time All Star and World Series champion with the Yankees, CC's work through his PitCCh In Foundation embodies the spirit of giving back and inspiring the next generation that's core to New York Road Runners' nonprofit vision. We're honored to have him leading this year's star-studded field and inspiring runners from around the world.
