After bowling Scotland out for 152, England racked up 155-5 in 18.2 overs, with Jacob Bethell scoring 32, Sam Curran 28 and Will Jacks (16 off 10 balls) hitting a six and a four to finish the job. England wobbled at the start of their chase as the new white ball swung under the floodlights with the sun going down. Phil Salt fell third ball to Brandon McMullen for just two and when Jos Buttler picked out McMullen off Brad Currie, they were 13-2.
India and Pakistan renew one of sport's fiercest rivalries on Sunday as they meet in the T20 World Cup 2026 Group A in Colombo. Both nations arrive unbeaten after two matches, with India sitting top of the group thanks to a superior net run rate. With Virat Kohli no longer part of the T20 setup, responsibility with the ball has shifted further towards Jasprit Bumrah, whose control in both the powerplay and death overs remains crucial.
The tournament was expanded to include 20 teams in 2024, and the number of competitors will remain the same this year. However, there was a late change in the team list as the ICC expelled Bangladesh from the tournament following a weeks-long impasse on their participation. Scotland replaced Bangladesh, who were kicked out due to their refusal to travel to India for the World Cup over security concerns.
Bitter rivals India and Pakistan will face off in Group A at next year's 20-team competition. Archrivals India and Pakistan will clash in a politically-charged Twenty20 World Cup match in Colombo on February 15, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said as it announced the draw on Tuesday. The 20-team tournament will be played across eight venues five in India and three in Sri Lanka between February 7 and March 8, the ICC said in a statement.
