Pakistan: PTI supporters decry pre-election crackdown DW 01/16/2024
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ruled that Imran Khan's PTI party cannot use the cricket bat symbol on ballots, forcing PTI candidates to run as independents in upcoming polls.
PTI officials are concerned that without their party symbol, some people in Pakistan may not be able to recognize PTI candidates on the ballot due to high illiteracy rates. [ more ]
