Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is challenging a fee levied by the EU on larger online platforms as part of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). This is the first lawsuit focused on the supervisory fee.
The DSA allows the EU to charge very large online platforms (VLOPs) and search engines to fund the cost of oversight. The fee is based on the size of the service and the provider's economic capacity. [ more ]
