The very first minutes of Thursday on the East Coast brought news that Xander Bogaerts had signed an 11-year, $280 million deal with the Padres, and despite a quiet morning and afternoon, the zany status quo returned at night.The Mets re-signed outfielder Brandon Nimmo to an eight-year, $162 million contract and added old friend David Robertson to their bullpen as a $10 million sweetener.

Aaron Judge had a historic season for the New York Yankees in 2022, but after another ALCS failure, it might be time for big changes in the Bronx.Aaron Judge is a free-agent and will obviously be the most highly sought after player on the market.The Yankees have deep pockets, but maybe some other team will pry Judge away and his last moment in pinstripes will be the final out of the ALCS
