Steam experienced a widespread outage on December 24 that disrupted the Store, Community, Web APIs, and many online games, with services restored by December 25.
Steam is experiencing an outage that's impacting users ability to access the game store and play games online. Valve hasn't acknowledged the outage publicly, but SteamDB's unofficial Steam Status page reports that the Steam Store, Steam Community, and Steam Web APIs are all offline. DownDetector received over 6,000 outage reports around 1:15PM ET, and Steam is also inaccessible from Valve's mobile apps. The outage appears to be affecting APIs for Valve's online games, like Team Fortress 2, Dota 2 and Counterstrike 2, as well.
Mike Rose--the founder of No More Robots--shared his reaction to this turn of events on social media. In a follow-up message an hour later, Rose said he was "livid," before expressing his relief when Steam went back online. Players can now grab Little Rocket Lab on Steam and Xbox. No More Robots released a trailer for the game as well.
