L&D teams must adopt marketing-style measurement metrics to effectively assess training impact on behavior and performance.
Reliability is broadly defined by how often your car experiences unscheduled failures or malfunctions. A car that is more likely to experience failures is considered unreliable, whereas one that can go for 150,000 miles with nothing but regular maintenance would be considered reliable.
The blank canvas wasn't a hurdle; it was an invitation. An invitation to think, to wrestle, to connect disparate dots until a clear, compelling strategy emerged. Today, that invitation often comes in the form of a blinking cursor in a prompt box. The promise is seductive: speed, efficiency, and democratized creativity.
Super shoes and ultralight gear make a difference, but with new advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) that can look at our running form and compare it to the ideal, analyze our nutrition intake from a simple photo and help us plan our diets, and offer guidance on training and recovery, the interwovenness of technology and running is only set to increase.
Before you can even get the opportunity to impress a human interviewer, you will first need to impress the algorithm! More recently, AI has also been used to assist current employees in doing their jobs and then to help their employers evaluate how well employees are performing in those jobs.
We're investing a lot in AI - we're doing a lot, but we're stopping at individual productivity. We're not taking the next step. You can't just screw AI on everything - it only makes you faster. It means you need to think about, 'how are our teams collaborating? How are people collaborating?' You probably need to change the way you work.
Why does everyone feel overwhelmed by information? Why does it feel impossible to trust what passes through our streams? We tend to blame individual publications, specific platforms, or bad actors. The real answer has less to do with any single media entity and more with structural changes in the information ecosystem. I started my "information" life typing copy on an ill-tempered Remington.
