NASA Experiment With Fire in Space Ends When Entire Spacecraft Burns Up
NASA has completed its final Spacecraft Fire Safety Experiment (Saffire), which involved controlled fires in orbit to study fire behavior in space.
The Saffire experiments have provided invaluable insights into crew safety and will help enhance the safety of future space exploration missions.
The sixth and final Saffire experiment, Saffire-VI, involved igniting flames on various materials with increased oxygen concentration and lowered pressure. [ more ]
