Space shuttle Endeavour soaring into place at final museum home

The space shuttle Endeavour will undergo its final lift to be placed in the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.
The move will be done in two parts, with the first part involving lifting the shuttle into the building and the second part involving attaching it to the external tank. [ more ]

Shuttle Endeavour's giant orange fuel tank hoisted up, but winds delay final placement

External fuel tank ET-94 for Space Shuttle Endeavour was positioned vertically between two rocket boosters, but final installation delayed due to wind gusts. Work to resume at 10pm when winds are expected to die down.
When completed, Endeavour will be displayed in a full-stack arrangement, pointing towards the stars as if ready for launch. [ more ]
