We've seen plenty of logo design fails in recent years, mostly thanks to unfortunate resemblances.From the Calendly toilet bowl to the Amazon Hitler moustache (links at the bottom, you're welcome), some similarities can never be unseen.But here's a logo that literally spells things out.

On June 7, 2023, the Ninth Circuit issued its opinion in VHT, Inc. v. Zillow Group, Inc., in which it affirmed the trial court's findings of infringement against Zillow and the award of statutory damages.In 2019, the Ninth Circuit had previously found mostly in Zillow's favor as to an earlier trial and had reversed and remanded the case back for further proceedings.

The U.S. Supreme Court today granted a petition brought by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Director Katherine Vidal that asks, "whether the refusal to register a mark under Section 1052(c) violates the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment when the mark contains criticism of a government official or public figure."

The Supreme Court recently issued its pro-trademark-owner opinion Jack Daniel's Properties, Inc. v. VIP Products LLC and unanimously vacated the Ninth Circuit favoring the accused comedic copycat.Justice Kagan delivered the opinion of the Court with concurring opinions from both Justice Sotomayor and Justice Gorsuch.

Last week, Apple filed a petition for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) to rehear a decision that effectively canceled the tech giant's application to register the trademark APPLE MUSIC.
