Murder, grand larceny, auto, and burglary dropped, the data show, with murder down 40 percent - from five incidents to three - compared to the same period last year. Murder was down significantly citywide, the NYPD announced on Tuesday, and November 2025 saw the lowest number of killings since the city began keeping crime records. But rape, assault, grand larceny, and robbery all rose in Brooklyn in November.

The 68-year-old has also been charged with nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault. Three of the accounts of indecent assault are alleged to have taken place in BBC studios in the 1990s. The charges related to seven women, some as young as 17 years old, with the allegations spanning from 1983 to 2016. Mr Westwood was granted bail at a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Micheal Ward, the Bafta-winning actor who starred in Top Boy and Blue Story, has appeared in court on charges of rape and sexual assault. Ward, 27, who is also known for roles in shows and films including Small Axe, The Old Guard and Empire of Light, appeared at Thames magistrates court on Thursday wearing dark glasses and a black jacket. He spoke to confirm his name, address and date of birth during a short hearing. The actor, from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, did not enter any pleas and was granted conditional bail. He will appear at Snaresbrook crown court on 25 September. The charges relate to one woman and are alleged to have taken place in January 2023.
