Polanco's three-run homer off Louis Varland put Seattle back ahead 6-3 in the fifth. J.P Crawford added an RBI single in the sixth and Naylor had a two-run homer in the seventh against Braydon Fisher. Six of Polanco's first seven hits this postseason drove in runs. He had the game-ending single in the 15th inning of Friday's Division Series clincher against Detroit and went 2 for 4 with two RBIs in Seattle's 3-1 opening ALCS win.
"I mean, when I hit it, I know it's a home run. I didn't even see where it landed. I was looking in the dugout trying to get the guys going, get back in the dugout, everyone is high-fiving. I knew I hit it good. I didn't know where it went. Eventually somebody tells me, you watch it on video where it goes. I was just more focused on our guys there. I don't care."
A dominant 10-5 win on Tuesday night started off with a bang (literally) as superstar Shohei Ohtani demolished the third pitch he saw 117.7 mph off his bat to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. The 100.4 mph offering from Reds right-hander Hunter Greene was no match for the three-time (and soon-to-be four-time) MVP. The fireworks continued as Teoscar Hernández launched a three-run shot in the bottom of the third inning to increase the lead to four.
