Arizona Supreme Court Upholds 1864 Territorial Statute Banning Nearly All Abortions
The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled that a territorial law from 1864 banning almost all abortions is enforceable due to the absence of state laws permitting the procedure post the overturn of federal abortion protections.
Physicians in Arizona are now notified of the near-total ban on abortions, except those necessary to save a woman's life, following the recent ruling. [ more ]
