From the discussions in the Jakarta EE Platform call[s] the last couple of weeks, it looks like we won't see a release of Jakarta EE 12 on this side of summer (on the Northern Hemisphere at least). The reason is that since Jakarta EE 11 was delayed by a year, most of the vendors are currently working on their implementations.
This week's Java roundup for November 17th, 2025, features news highlighting: an update on Jakarta EE 12; patch set updates for Liberica JDK; the December 2025 beta release of Open Liberty; and maintenance releases of Quarkus, JobRunr, OpenXava, JDKUpdater and Gradle. Build 25 of the JDK 26 early-access builds was made available this past week featuring updates from Build 24 that include fixes for various issues. For JDK 26, developers are encouraged to report bugs via the Java Bug Database.
Version 8.1.0 of the Regression Test Harness for the JDK, , has been released and ready for integration in the JDK. The most significant changes are: improvements in the logging format and order relative to agents, actions and test-related execution points; and the XAUTHORITY environment variable is now preserved when launching tests on Unix-like platforms.
