Intuitive Machines' Nova-C lander, Odysseus, has launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and is set to land on the moon on February 22.

The lander will carry scientific and commercial payloads and aims to operate for up to seven days on the lunar surface.

Intuitive Machines launched its Nova-C lander, with the aim of achieving the first US lunar landing in over 50 years.

The Odysseus mission will be the first lunar landing carried out by a private company.

NASA launches Intuitive Machines' IM-1 mission to the Moon using a Falcon 9 rocket.
