LFB Dozens of firefighters have extinguished a fire in the basement of a data centre in east London. London Fire Brigade (LFB) said around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines were called to Nutmeg Lane, Blackwall at 04:50 GMT on Saturday. The fire broke out in a battery room containing lead-acid batteries and was brought under control before 07:00. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
FIVE young residents have died and four others have sustained minor injuries after a fire ripped through the storage area of a residential building in Manlleu, in northeastern Catalonia, according to regional firefighters late on Monday, February 16. Emergency responders received calls of a fire near Beare Road and Finch Avenue E. around 9:13 a.m., Toronto Fire told CBC News. They said CN Rail has been notified as train tracks are nearby. BOROUGH PARK - A fire inside a Borough Park building left six civilians and one firefighter injured on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The blaze started at 8:50 a.m. on the second floor of the building. FDNY said 21 units and 79 firefighters and EMS workers were at the scene. The fire was put out at 10:10 a.m. One person is in critical condition while five civilians and a firefighter sustained minor injuries.
The first blaze broke out shortly before 6 p.m. Friday at 301 Pennsylvania Ave. in East New York, where members of the 15th Division arrived to find heavy fire on the first floor and extension to the second. Engine Company 290 and Ladder Company 103 knocked back the flames, and the fire was declared under control at 6:45 p.m.
