What are the Tories trying to achieve with their new Rwanda bill?
The UK government has introduced a new bill, the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill, to declare Rwanda as a safe country for asylum seekers and override legal blocks.
The bill aims to address concerns raised by the Supreme Court, which found that the previous Rwanda policy breached the principle of non-refoulement. [ more ]
