Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has proposed a non-aggression pact to Azerbaijan as a stepping stone towards a comprehensive peace treaty.

The proposal includes a mutual arms control mechanism and signing the non-aggression pact if the peace treaty is delayed.

Previous peace talks have failed to produce a breakthrough, and tensions remain high between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. [ more ]
