Tate Modern museum in London announced its slate of 2027 exhibitions, including an opera-inspired installation by David Hockney in the revered Turbine Hall marking the artist's 90th birthday, Algerian artist Baya's debut U.K. solo show, and the first-ever exhibition devoted entirely to French impressionist Claude Monet since the Tate Modern opened 26 years ago.

The gallery's inaugural presentation marked the first time Australian First Nations art had been presented at TEFAF Maastricht, and with sales totaling nearly $1.4 million, further underscored the growing relevance and interest in the category. Just shy of 300-feet and improbably painted using an iPad, Hockney's frieze winds its way around the outer perimeter of "A Year in Normandie and Some Other Thoughts about Painting," on view at Serpentine North through August 23. I've been aware of the Gochman Family Collection for a number of years through my work with artists in the collection, including during the organisation of Jaune Quick-to-See Smith: Memory Map. What drew me to the role was the chance to focus on the parts of curatorial work that excite me most--supporting living artists and helping them realise their visions.

Over four days, participants will move through a sequence of philosophical orientations - Rooting, Growing, Branching, and Cultivating Futures- that frame art as a mode of world-disclosure and situated intervention.

Situated in the southern tip of Mumbai, the neighbourhoods of Colaba and Fort are home to dock yards, grand colonial architecture and most of the city's museums and contemporary art galleries.
