Juno makes its first ultra-close flyby of the volcano-covered moon Io
NASA's Juno spacecraft made its closest flyby of Jupiter's moon, Io, getting within 930 miles of its surface.
Io is a dry, geologically active moon with over 400 active volcanoes, making it of great interest to astronomers. [ more ]
