Okay, I'm going to say it. Okay. Okay. St. John's fans...I was rooting for St. John's [in the tournament]. Do I want to play them? Probably not, but I didn't want to play Duke either, so we were rooting for St. John's, and then when we went to the [Elite Eight] game, all those St. John's fans were rooting against us, and that broke my heart.
Cornell is thrilled to welcome all of these incredible student-athletes to Ithaca. The NCAA basketball tournaments are cultural institutions and lots of fun. I'm excited and proud, both as a fan and as the university's president, to host our terrific Ivy athletes, coaches and fans.
This game has been in the making since 2004. To have our first standalone game is a big deal. Not a lot of people have an idea how much goes into putting these games together. From 2004, we never thought we'd even have a game there. Just to see where it's growing, it's great. As a New Yorker, there's no better feeling.
Nearly three weeks after their first contest, the two top teams in the league standings rematch as UConn welcomes St. John's to town with revenge on their mind. It's a contest that will absolutely help decide the regular season champion of the Big East.
The Manhattan Jaspers (7-18) will visit the Marist Red Foxes (10-17) after losing three straight road games. On Saturday, in its most recent game, Marist lost to Rider 56-43. With 19 points, Justine Henry was its top scorer. Manhattan was victorious in its previous game versus Canisius, 68-55, on Saturday. Brianna Davis starred with 28 points, and also had one rebound and three assists.
