We at Gender Plus are dismayed by NHS England's decision to stop new prescriptions of gender-affirming hormones (GAH) to under-18s. At Gender Plus Hormone Clinic (GPHC) - the only CQC Outstanding registered provider of care to transgender people from the age of 16 - we prescribe these medications where indicated following a rigorous process, in line with international best practice and guidance.

The General Medical Council (GMC) opened an investigation into concerns about Prof Peter Hindmarsh, including that he had harmed patients, on the first day he gave evidence at Letby's trial in late 2022. The GMC investigation was still continuing when Hindmarsh gave evidence for a second time at the Letby trial three months later.

Conversion therapy is the discredited and harmful practice of attempting to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity. The therapist in the case (Kaley Chiles) argues that this law is an unconstitutional restriction on her speech: psychotherapy is, on her view, a kind of speech, and thus the state law violates her First Amendment rights. Neil Hopper, 49, whose legs were amputated below the knee, is accused of telling insurers that his injuries were the result of sepsis and were not self-inflicted, intending to make a gain. He has also been charged with encouraging someone else to remove the body parts of others after he allegedly bought videos from an extreme body modification website. Appearing at Truro Crown Court on Thursday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation between 3 June and 26 June 2019.
