Brown was charged with home invasion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over age 60, kidnapping, witness intimidation, armed assault in a dwelling, armed burglary, breaking and entering in a building at night, larceny of a motor vehicle, and larceny over $1,200.
Early Thursday morning, officials at Villanova University outside Philadelphia received a "threat of violence targeted at an academic building" and quickly closed their campus and canceled all activities. University officials issued an all clear at 1:36 p.m. on Thursday and noted that the FBI and local law enforcement were continuing their investigation. Alcorn State University in Mississippi initiated a campus lockdown Thursday morning due to a "safety threat," which officials cleared several hours later. Wiley University in Texas also locked down its campus due to a "threat via email" and lifted the lockdown at noon Thursday.
A 38-year-old man, Evan Perez Villanueva, has been arrested in connection with the fatal January 15th shooting at 16th and San Bruno, in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood. Villanueva was found on the 200 block of San Bruno Avenue, and a search of his car turned up a shotgun, the SFPD says. Danelo Cavalcante, a 34-year-old convicted murderer, was spotted just south of the original search area on Monday evening, when security footage captured him at a popular botanical gardens site, CNN reported. Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said the search team is now shifting its radius and that the prisoner is still considered extremely dangerous. Cavalcante, who was convicted of killing his former girlfriend, 33-year-old Deborah Brandão, was sentenced to life without parole on Aug. 16.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Police are searching for a suspect who shot a 27-year-old man during a street encounter late Wednesday night in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, according to an NYPD Crime Stoppers alert. Authorities said the attack occurred around 9:54 p.m. at the intersection of Sackett Street and 3rd Avenue. The victim was reportedly approached by an unidentified man who began talking with him before pulling out a gun and firing, striking the victim in the right leg.
