The curators describe the festival as a public encounter with memory, imagination, and everyday life, revealing how light can connect communities across generations and geographies.

drift presents a triptych of light across jubail island, abu dhabi brings three new large-scale light installations to Manar Abu Dhabi, transforming Jubail Island into an illuminated landscape of shifting wind, data, and memory. Part of the outdoor festival's second edition, running until January 4th, 2026, the works are staged within mangroves, tidal waterways, and open sky, allowing technology and environment to operate as a single system.

"The vinyl braids piece is my first quilt with these materials. I work with Rainbow Symphony in L.A. to get my prism film. When film arrives, it is thin and potentially brittle, so it needs the vinyl if it is going to be moving around and rolled up several times etc. The prism film is applied to a clear vinyl which is then sewn together

The world's largest festival of light and art, Noor Riyadh, dazzles the Saudi capital from November 20 to December 6, 2025, elevating everyday spaces into extraordinary encounters. The festival brings together an inspiring roster of 59 international artists from 24 countries, including a vibrant mix of leading global names and pioneering Saudi talents, to explore the city's rapid transformation through the mesmerizing medium of light.

The lights are completely free to see and will switch on every evening from 5pm to 10pm until January 31. For 2026, the festival's theme is 'Dreamscape', which promises an 'an exploratory journey of the surreal and ethereal'. Expect interactive displays, colourful projections and magnificent installations from world-renowned light artists, as well as pop-up food stalls to keep you fuelled along the way.
