A recent study by sexy toy brand Lelo found that 41 per cent of British men have used a sex toy and, according to Smile Makers, more women in the UK own a vibrator than a dishwasher. Still, the world isn't exactly stigma-free regarding pleasure products, and it's a reasonable request not to want attention drawn to your favourite toys.
The "Let Kids Be Kids" rally, organized by the Association for Reformed Political Action (ARPA), called for an end to gender-affirming care for minors, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy and genital surgery some of which isn't currently available for people under 18 in Canada. "We believe we need to let kids be, to grow and develop naturally without medical gender transitions," said Daniel Zekveld, a policy analyst with ARPA.
The law prohibits hormone therapy and sexual-reassignment surgeries for under-21s, with violations leading to a $50,000 fine and up to 15 years in prison.
