Lawyers representing women affected by state pension age changes are preparing to formally challenge the government's repeated refusal to offer compensation. The move comes after women impacted by the way changes to the state pension age were communicated were told for a second time in January that they would not receive financial redress.

Leon, a George W. Bush appointee, accused the administration of offering "shifting" arguments for why the $400 million project is not subject to congressional oversight. It's a case of the regulator not doing its job properly. These colleges don't appear consistent with the OfS requirements on academic freedom and freedom of expression, so they shouldn't have been registered in the first place. The lack of transparency is striking. If institutions are built around enforcing a confessional worldview rather than academic freedom, then they shouldn't be registered by the OfS or receiving public funds.

Officials have said those policies, which include allowing students to compete in the sport that aligns with their gender-not their sex at birth-and to use the corresponding bathrooms and locker rooms, violate Title IX because they deny cisgender female athletes equal opportunities. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 bars sex-based discrimination and harassment, and advocates for trans students say the administration is weaponizing the 53-year-old law to advance its agenda.

Local election administrators have warned that councils face "an uphill struggle" to be ready in time for the May local elections after the government reversed its plan to delay some votes. McKenzie had attempted to characterize Goliath's piece, which would have centered Palestinians enduring genocide in Gaza, as "highly divisive" and not aligned with South Africa's interests - even though the country famously brought a legal case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague over allegations of genocide in Gaza.

The site in question is the subject of a legal challenge raised by tech justice non-profit Foxglove in collaboration with environmental charity Global Action Plan, who claimed the government was wrong to grant planning permission for the project without conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) first. The project, known as the West London Technology Park (WLTP) development, is being overseen by developer Greystoke, which wants to transform the former landfill site (located within an area of green belt land) into a hyperscale datacentre.

The pair were to present a new iteration of Elegy- Goliath's decade-long project that has centred on femicide and the murder of LGBTQI+ people in South Africa.

Opponents of a huge new Chinese embassy next to the Tower of London say they will soon begin legal action in an attempt to block the scheme. On Tuesday, the government approved China's proposal to redevelop the former Royal Mint site into a vast 215,300 sq ft (20,000 sq m) UK headquarters, despite opposition from politicians and campaigners.
