The DOL's proposed rule aims to clarify the classification of independent workers in the U.S.
This is really about trying to put power in the hands of people. There's 70% of workers who want a union, and 10% have them. If it were a company, they would figure out how to get the product into the hands of the 70% who wanted it.
Remote work not only increases worker efficiency but also helps state workers who are struggling to pay bills. It costs state workers roughly $6,000 a year to come into office four times a week.
Under House Bill 501, 'employees of the Transportation Cabinet shall not be permitted to telecommute unless specifically exempted by the Secretary of the Transportation Cabinet.' This provision was vetoed by Governor Andy Beshear but was overridden by the legislature.
Gas-intensive industries in the UK have been shamefully ignored by the Government in this announcement, it's a total disgrace. Workers in manufacturing companies across the UK need urgent help; this isn't it.
