The fastest robot from Chinese smartphone-maker Honor notched a winning time of 50 minutes and 26 seconds while autonomously navigating the 13-mile (21-kilometer) route, according to the Global Times.
The Saucony Run Shoreditch Half will debut on Sunday September 20, 2026 - and it's from the same people who're behind the Hackney Half. The event began last year as a 10k, with runners starting in Shoreditch Park, winding through the boroughs of Hackney and Islington, then crossing the finish line back at the park. We don't know exactly what the half marathon route will look like yet, but we do know that it'll also start and end at Shoreditch Park.
Although the 4 a.m. start allowed athletes to avoid the worst of the heat and pollution levels, the air quality index was 178 at the start time, a level that is considered unhealthy, and the temperature hovered near 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit). The combination made for challenging conditions from the start.
The Hackney Half is one of the most popular races in the city, which means getting a spot at the event is no easy feat. Good thing then that another half marathon will be hosted in east London this year. After the success of the Run Shoreditch 10K, the organisers (the very same behind the Hackney Half, the Oxford Half and the Saucony London 10K) are turning it onto a half distance race for 2026.
The day really belonged to women's winner Ashley Paulson, though. The 44-year-old from Utah scored a new women's 100-mile world record. Paulson ran 12:19 to take 17 minutes off Caitriona Jenning's (Ireland) old record from November 2025. Paulson ran the first half in 5:56.
