Golden Knights play the Sharks after Marchessault's 2-goal performance

Vegas Golden Knights (46-21-6, first in the Pacific Division) vs. San Jose Sharks (19-39-15, eighth in the Pacific Division)
San Jose, California; Thursday, 10:30 p.m. EDT
BOTTOM LINE: The Vegas Golden Knights visit the San Jose Sharks after Jonathan Marchessault's two-goal game against the Edmonton Oilers in the Golden Knights' 7-4 loss.

3 Kings Key to Team's Playoff Success

The Los Angeles Kings haven't made the playoffs in consecutive seasons since they were winning Cups in the early 2010s.They are virtually guaranteed to make it this year, after ending a four-year drought last season. They haven't made it past the first round since they won the Cup in 2014 though, and with the way things are going now, losing in Round 1 would be a big disappointment.

NY Rangers Game 48: Rangers vs. Vegas - Blue Seat Blogs

Game Thread
The Rangers celebrate Pride Night tonight, their last game before their bye week and the All Star break, against the Vegas Golden Knights.Vegas isn't dressing a full lineup, as per the published lineup from noon today (if this is outdated now, apologies.I had to write this well in advance today), which makes them vulnerable to a Rangers team that, while struggling for consistency, is finding a way to get points regardless (7-2-2 this month).

An epic battle of the expansion teams in the 2024 Winter Classic: Reaction

During the 2023 NHL Winter Classic between the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins, some big news was announced for next year. The 2024 Winter Classic now has a location and teams with the Vegas Golden Knights visiting the Seattle Kraken at TMobile Park.I believe this game has a lot to get excited about.

The New York Rangers are coming off two impressive wins against the St. Louis Blues and Vegas Golden Knights. It only gets tougher from here though.Friday night finds the Rangers in a primetime matchup against the Colorado Avalanche with much at stake in early December.

Have Rangers finally turned the corner? Or should fans pump breaks after 2nd straight win? | amNewYork

The New York Rangers could easily be compared to the fictional Cleveland Indians of the movie "Major League II."In the film, the fictional team who had achieved a small bit of success one season came into the next one and disappointed fans, coaches, and themselves through the first half of the season.

Preview: Rangers at Vegas

Tonight the New York Rangers will take on the Western Conference-leading Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena at 10:00 eastern. The Rangers are coming off a comeback win against the Blues thanks in part to new line combinations assembled in the third period. Our own Tom Dionara wrote in favor of keeping the kids on the top line, and wouldn't you know it, Gerard Gallant seems to feel the same.

What we learned after Bruce Cassidy ended the Bruins' home win streak

Bruins "That's something I'll get choked up about, probably in about three seconds.I appreciate it."Bruce Cassidy returned  to his old stomping grounds and did something that 14 other teams couldn't do on TD Garden ice.But first, the Vegas Golden Knights had to survive a ferocious comeback bid from the Boston Bruins.

San Jose Sharks Face Tough Decision With Timo Meier's Future

It's not a secret that the San Jose Sharks are in a major cap crunch with no way out in the near future. They already have $11.5 million tied up with Erik Karlsson, $7 million with Marc-Edouard Vlasic, and just over $16 million between Logan Couture and Tomas Hertl. In total, that's $34.5 million tied up for at least the next four years.

Islanders Gameday News: Tough road begins in Boston

The Islanders are in Boston to kick off a five-game, coast-to-near-coast (and-back) road stretch, with stops at home, a back-to-back in the desert, by a visit to the defending Cup champions and then back in New York for a visit to the Garden.First up is the Bruins, who are atop the league at 22-4-1 and pose the biggest challenge of this stretch, but the Knights and Avalanche also lurk ahead.

Saturday FTB: what the NHL All Star game rosters could be

Do y'all remember back in the day, before I had developed the ability to remember things (people in my life say I still haven't, to be fair), the NHL used to have their All-Star Games be East vs West?Baseball used to do this with their American and National Leagues, where the winner of the All-Star Game getting home field advantage for their representative in the World Series - a big deal.

NY Rangers confidence is one helluva drug in strong win over Vegas - Blue Seat Blogs

Game Wrap-upsI think the Rangers confidence is back.Since the promotion of Alexis Lafrenière and Kaapo Kakko to the top line, and some other minor line juggles by the head coach, the Rangers have found their confidence. That top line is buzzing, and looks like a reincarnation of the GAG line.Under no circumstances can Gallant tinker with it, it operated at an 86.28 xGF% per Natural Stat Trick.

Islanders News: That's hockey, ain't it?

That wasn't the worst game they have ever played, but that was not very inspiring hockey by the New York Islanders. After two straight two-goal comebacks against theoretically strong opponents, the Islanders failed to score any goals against a theoretically weaker opponent in the Arizona Coyotes on a night where their elite goaltender only gave up one goal (and he didn't really stand a chance on it).

Toronto Maple Leafs Vastly Outplay Another Top Team

The Toronto Maple Leafs were significantly better than the Golden Knights last night, despite a 4-3 overtime loss. This is the third top-team in a row that the Toronto Maple Leafs played, and for the third straight time their fans should be incredibly happy with the results. The Leafs came out last Wednesday and put everything on the line, making a statement to the entire NHL that they were not the in need of a coaching chance or anything else.

NY Rangers Game 28: Rangers at Vegas - Blue Seat Blogs

Game ThreadThe Rangers staged a dramatic comeback on Monday night, mounting a three goal third against St. Louis for the regulation win. They, of course, were awful before that, and it was really Jordan Binnington's heroics that the Rangers were able to pull off the win. They temporarily saved Gallant's job.

Top 5 best and top 5 worst NHL teams following November

The NHL is the best league in the world. It has the most parity and anything can happen on any given night. It is incredibly fun to watch on a daily basis. The teams in this league are absolutely incredible and give it their all in every game.It also appears that we are entering a golden era of the game as there is more talent out there than there ever has been.

Morning Skate: Revenge

Happy Friday, folks! The Bruins sent you into the weekend in a good mood with a 3-1 win over Calgary last night, extending their home unbeaten run to franchise-record levels. It was a weird game in that the Bruins didn't record their first shot on goal until nearly halfway through the first period, but ended up looking like a fairly comfortable win.
