Leduc County said it was the target of a deliberate cybersecurity attack which disabled some of the county's information technology (IT) systems. A news release issued Sunday afternoon said the county became aware of the incident, which has been identified as a ransomware attack, on Dec. 25. Other IT systems have been proactively disabled during an ongoing forensic investigation. Key stakeholders, including RCMP and the county's insurance and banking providers have been notified.
Ferry passengers at the Port of Dover faced delays of up to an hour on Saturday due to IT issues affecting French border controls. The disruption began on Saturday morning, coinciding with the peak Christmas getaway period, which is expected to be the busiest on record. The Port of Dover is working with partner agencies to resolve the problems and has advised passengers not to arrive more than two hours before their sailing.
Flights to and from Edinburgh Airport are continuing to be beset by delays, after an undisclosed IT issue grounded passengers for around an hour on the morning of Friday 5 December 2025. The airport issued a statement via its social media channels at around 9.30am, confirming that no flights were currently arriving or departing from the site due an "IT issue" affecting its air traffic control provider.
