Open Telemetry aims for stability and graduation as a CNCF project, focusing on making its elements 'boring' to ensure robustness.
OpenTelemetry is becoming a common standard for collecting logs, metrics, traces, and other telemetry from applications and infrastructure, yet its flexibility and rising ecosystem have also led to confusion about how it works and when to use specific components. The new guide seeks to address frequently asked questions around the project's purpose, its relationship to monitoring and observability platforms, and how it integrates with cloud providers and APM tools.
Upon its debut in 1725, The Four Seasons stunned listeners by telling a story without the help of a human voice. Vivaldi drew on four existing sonnets (possibly of his own provenance), using strings to paint a narrative filled with spring thunderstorms, summer's swelter, autumnal hunts and harvests, and the icy winds of winter. The composer studded his score with precisely placed lines from the sonnets, to convey his expectations that the musicians would use their instruments to sonically embody the experiences being described.
the interfaces we aim to make frictionless, the journeys that help users find value, and the connection to the business outcomes we hope to achieve. That work is becoming even more important today. As AI-driven and generative tools move into our day-to-day workflows, the experiences we design no longer stop at the interface. Interfaces can now generate, adapt, and learn from what users do next. The quality of those learning loops depends on the quality of the signals we build into them.
